Boating in Naini lake can be a good experience because weather there is fluctuating, sometimes clouds cover the lake in such a way that other end of the lake go out of sight.

Towards north end of lake there lies the Naina Devi temple. The temple mythology states that Naina Devi temple is the place where eyes of burning Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her corpse. So Goddess is worshiped here in form of eyes (Naina).

The main road passing the city is Mall road where shops, restaurants, cycle and motorcycle rent shops, winter wears are available. And above that road hotels are situated. The view from the hotel facing the lake can take your breath. The beautiful lake surrounded by seven hills and twinkling lights from far houses add to the beauty.

There is a zoo also officially named as Bharat Ratna Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo Nainital and according to Uttrakhand govt. It is said this is the single zoo in entire Uttrakhand state.

There are some annoying things too like local there will try to persecute you to approach them for sightseeing and other local assistance. One more big problem is parking and place especially mall road is overcrowded which day by day ruining the natural beauty.

Government had a done a great job by making footpath all around the lake. People can take a peaceful walk, stare fishes playing. People mainly forget the purpose for what they came for which is internal peace and an escape from metropolitan chaos, they there also search for materialistic things shopping and all.

I am sure a quality walk near the lake with your family or partner or may be alone may help you to get some answers which you are looking for. This is what the beauty of nature, it acts like mother and when we are in intense depression the only person we rush to is mother.
